Mount Shasta, Northern California's largest mountain, as seen from a jet at 30,000 feet.  The massive Cascade volcano towers at 14,162 feet above sea level, only a few hundred feet shorter than the tallest Cascade - Mount Rainier.  You can easily see the finger-like avalanche run outs at the timberline.
