The crevasse was located on the South Side of Mount Hood, around 9,375 feet, to the Southeast of Crater Rock and just West of White River Glacier.  There is no ski lift access at that level, so rescuers had to ascend from the top of the Palmer Snowfield (8,540 feet) after riding a Sno-Cat to that level.  Similarly, the patient was brought down on foot from the crevasse to the same vehicle at the top of Palmer.
