The PMR and AMR rescuers package the injured climber in a rescue litter for lowering down the South Side of Mount Hood.  The litter would be lowered on the snow from 10,000 feet to approximately 9,000 feet using a series of anchor stations.  The broken wood is from the remains of an old building near the crater of the mountain.
