A reference map of Mount Hood's South Side showing some of the major features of the mountain.  The climber fell on the Hogsback and crawled down to the East of Crater Rock, the large outcropping in the center of the entrance to the mountain's crater near 10,000 feet in elevation.  Rescuers had to hike from the top of Palmer Snowfield (8,500 feet) to the subject's location.
