The rescue teams begin the extrication process by moving the patient
(in rescue litter) to the snow. Once on the snow, the litter
would be safely lowered down the mountain until reaching the dirt
trail. From that point, a wheel would be attached to the litter
in order to roll the patient to the trailhead.
