On May 16, 2002, Portland Mountain Rescue is losing an integral part
of its team, as current Secretary, Rescue Level member and Past
President Doug Striker is leaving the Portland area to take a new
job in Colorado.
For the better portion of a decade, Doug has been an active part of
our unit, participating in a variety of roles. He has held
several officer positions with the Board of Directors and
chairperson titles on PMR committees. For the years 2000
and 2001, he served as our President and he is currently President
of the Oregon Mountain Rescue Council (OMRC).
More than just an administrator, Doug is a skilled mountaineer and
rescuer and has participated in countless SAR missions. His
selfless contributions to our unit and to the entire Oregon Mountain
Rescue community have left a lasting impression.
The members of Portland Mountain Rescue wish Doug well with his new
adventures in Colorado.

Mr. Striker shows off his
chicken shaped ice axe.
(We're only kidding, of course.)
