Deceased male subject reovered from Ski Bowl area of Mt Hood

Saturday, January 13, 2007

At the request the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Portland Mountain Rescue (PMR) performed the recovery of a deceased man from Tom, Dick and Harry Mountain, adjacent to Mount Hood Ski Bowl ski area.

Three PMR members serving on Ready Team at Timberline ski area were able to respond. There they were met by two more PMR members as well as personnel from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s office, American Medical Response, Mountain Wave, Mt. Hood Ski Patrol, and the Ski Bowl mountain department at Ski Bowl.

After being transported by snowmobile to the top of the ski area, PMR members made their way to the subject’s location, not far beyond the ski area boundary. The terrain proved to be easily navigable on foot and the subject was quickly transported back to the ski area boundary in a litter. Staff from Mount Hood Ski Bowl then transported the subject to the ski area base. PMR’s team descended and everyone was out of the field before dark.
