Mount Adams Lenticular Cloud
A lenticular cloud covers the upper portion of Washington's 12,276-foot Mount Adams. The cloud, created as strong high level winds are bent by the mountain terrain, is often shaped like an upside down saucer. This phenomenon can occur "out of the clear blue sky", as long as there are winds near the summit and some amount of moisture in the atmosphere.
