Make a Donation:
Portland Mountain Rescue is a non-profit, all
volunteer organization that is funded entirely through individual donations,
grants and other fundraising methods. None of our members are compensated
for their work and we do not receive funding from the government.
Whether the economy is booming or slumping we want to be able to provide excellent training for our members, technical rescue resources and expertise for those who need our services and preventative education to the public. To that end, we have established an endowment fund with the Oregon Community Foundation to secure our long-term financial sustainability. A portion of donations received goes to the endowment to help us continue to provide rescue services in the up years as well as the down years.

Our Needs:
Our funding needs fall into three categories: operating expenses, field
equipment and educational resources. PMR maintains an operations vehicle,
utilizes specialized mountain rescue equipment and performs a number of
valuable community services free-of-charge. Though all members must have
their own basic mountaineering and climbing equipment, the PMR-owned technical
equipment is often quite expensive to purchase and maintain.
Though we occasionally accept donations in the form of goods or services, our
main need is cash to fund ongoing operations.
